A message from the New England Division National Vice Commandant
Thank you for visiting the New England Division website. The New England Division is one of ten Divisions that make up the Marine Corps League nationally. The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 by Major General Lejeune, and it was then chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1937 as a Veteran Service Organization. Within each Division of the League, there are Departments. In New England, they are the Departments of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Within each Department there are local Detachments which are vital to the Department.
The Departments and Detachments participate in programs such as Toys for Tots, Marine Corps League Scholarship foundation, Young Marines youth program, U.S. Marines Youth physical fitness, color guards and funeral honors to name a few. We pride ourselves in assisting Veterans and their families in their respective states, never leaving a comrade behind.
Our members enjoy the camaraderie, loyalty, brotherhood and sisterhood while participating in League events. It’s what we, as Marines, experienced while in the Corps. Upon returning to civilian life we looked for that same type of bond. You will rediscover that by becoming a Marine Corps League member.
The League has a lot to offer its members. If you are an active duty Marine, an honorably discharged Marine or FMF Navy personnel that has worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor, you are eligible to become a member of the League. Be a part of an organization where you can continue to serve your brothers and sisters, give back to your community and create lifelong relationships with individuals who share the same values as you. Check out the Detachment locator to find one closest to you.
If you are already a member, I appreciate all that you do for the League, our Service members and our Veterans.
Semper Fidelis!
Patrick Maguire
National Vice Commandant
