Department Junior Vice Commandant Steve Cheney

Marine Cheney enlisted into the Marine Corps on 23 December 1986. Upon completion of basic training with 2^ND Battalion, Delta Company, Parris Island, he completed schools in Millington, TN and Tustin, CA before reporting to his permanent duty station at MCB Kanoehe Bay, HI. There he joined HMM-364 as an aircraft structural mechanic on the CH46E-SRM “Phrog”. He was deployed twice during his tour to MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. He participated in Operation “Team Spirit” in PoHang, South Korea in ’88 and again in ’90 after completing qualification as a Crew Chief on the 46. He EAS’d in December 1990. Marine Cheney joined the Marine Corps League in 2000. He has served all of his time in the Worcester Detachment #144 and filled the role of Paymaster/Adjutant, Commandant and Paymaster.
