Department Quartermaster Steve Cheney Jr.
Marine Cheney Jr was born in Worcester, MA and raised in Oxford, MA. He enlisted into the Marine Corps in Feburary 2021. Upon graduation from 2nd Battalion, Echo Copmany, Parris Island, he completed schools at Naval Air Staion Pensacola in Pensacola, FL. and N.A.S. Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA Before reporting to his perminanet duty staion at MCAS MIRAMAR, CA. There he checked in with VMFA-232 as a aircraft structural safety mechanic on specializing on the F/A-18CD "Hornet". He participated in RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) in 2022 the world's largest international maritime exercise, at MCB Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Marine Cheney Jr joined the Marine Corps League in 2014 as an associate member where he grew up playing taps and carrying the guidon for the Worcester Detachment #144. In 2021, when fully qualified, he upgraded his membership to a regular Marine Member in the league.
