Department Finance Officer Ronald Timm

Marine Ronald Timm was born in Aurora, Colorado, raised near Buffalo, New York, and now resides on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot Parris Island in August 1989. Upon graduation, he attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, followed by MOS school at Camp Johnson, where he trained as a Unit Diary Clerk (MOS 0131).

Ron was assigned to Headquarters and Service Battalion, 2nd FSSG, and deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm. Upon returning in 1991, he was assigned to MSSG-26 with the 26th MEU and deployed aboard the USS Spartanburg County (LST-1192). After being discharged from active duty, he served in the Marine Corps Reserves with Headquarters and Service Company, 8th Tank Battalion in Rochester, NY, and later with 1st Battalion, 25th Marines in Buffalo, NY.

In 1996, Ron reenlisted and was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines at Twentynine Palms, CA, with a subsequent deployment to Okinawa, Japan. Upon return, he was transferred to the Inspector-Instructor Staff in New Haven, CT. He was honorably discharged in 2000 at the rank of Sergeant.

His military awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, two Navy Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, and two Non-Judicial Punishments.

Ron joined the Cape Cod Detachment of the Marine Corps League in 2015. He has served as Junior Vice Commandant, and is currently the Detachment Commandant.
