Department Commandant Jon Zwirblia

Marine Jon Zwirblia was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and currently lives in Southbridge Massachusetts. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in February 2004 and went to bootcamp at Parris Island. Upon graduation from boot camp, he completed Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, then completed his MOS School for Field Radio Operators in Twenty-Nine Palms. After completion of all his schools Marine Zwirblia was sent to 2nd Battalion 6th Marines for duty. He was assigned originally to Communications Platoon H&S Company, and after a few months he was re-assigned to the battalions Scout Sniper Platoon as its Radio Chief. Marine Zwirblia spent his remaining career with the Scout Sniper Platoon and deployed twice to Fallujah, Iraq. After four years of service Marine Zwirblia completed his contract in February of 2008 and was discharged honorably as a Sergeant. His personal awards include the Navy Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon.
Marine Zwirblia joined the Marine Corps League in June of 2008 in the Worcester Detachment #144, where he has served as the detachment’s Adjutant, Senior Vice Commandant, and Commandant. In June of 2021 Marine Zwirblia was elected to be the Department of Massachusetts Junior Vice Commandant, followed by election to Senior Vice Commandant. Jon is now serving as the Commandant for the Department of Massachusetts.
